HALFORDS MOBILITY RANGE GOES HI-TECH
Halfords are helping their mobility customers go that extra mile with confidence, thanks to a new dedicated sat nav system.
The Navevo BBNav is the first satellite navigation system specifically designed to support disabled drivers and those caring for them.
Halfords began a trial run into the mobility market, stocking products including scooters, wheelchairs and walking aids, last year. The scheme proved so successful, with positive customer feedback and soaring demand that the full mobility range was rolled out to all its 248 superstores last month. (May)
Now, the national retailer is extending its comprehensive range to include an innovative sat nav. The Navevo BBNav, priced £199.99 from Halfords includes all of the features found on a standard sat-nav, but also provides invaluable information for Blue Badge holders such as; the location of disabled parking bays, car parks and lavatories; local council Blue Badge parking concessions; accessible accommodation, beaches and Shopmobility centres.
Natalie Scott, Halfords Mobility Manager, said: “We are committed to ensuring our range of mobility products offers customers the best choice and price possible and that’s why we are delighted to stock the Navevo BBNav.
“In addition to the standard 40,000 NAVTEQ UK points of interest, Navevo BBNav also offers a further database of over 20,000 other points of interest specifically tailored to people with disabilities. If they are visiting an unfamiliar town for a day trip, Navevo BBNav will say where they can park, where the public toilets with disabled facilities are and will even point out the nearest Shopmobility scheme should they want to hire a powered scooter or wheelchair to see local attractions. BBNav even also displays the type of disabled access and contact telephone numbers, making it easier to plan a stress free trip.”
Navevo BBNav covers over 150 major cities and towns across the UK including all of the London boroughs, providing Blue Badge holders and their families and carers with greater flexibility and choice when shopping, driving into town, or just on a day out.
Halfords in store experts are happy to set up and demonstrate purchased satellite navigation systems for free. Visit www.halfords.com for further details.
